Where the vessel takes me

What possibly comes to your intellect when you think of your future? Is it the idea of you achieving everything you desire? Or is it something you're sure about but terrified to say out loud? Well, no matter how confusing it might seem, I'm sure it's worth the curiosity.

I am Sejal, here to take you down my content writing lane. Yes, I know the notion of this theme is 'Looking ahead', another lesson here; Always be patient. Yet, let's drive through the beginning.

So, it all comes down to two parts; Or, to be precise, two persons. It had never occurred to me to become a writer. Like every silly kid with giddy dreams, I dreamt of becoming a singer! I know right, quite a leap from vocal to nothing unequivocal. But then, we were all kids then. Please keep reading to retrieve your faith in 'Ideas change with time'.

'Robin'. That's my primary school English teacher and one of the reasons why I am what I am. I don't remember her last name, but I remember considerable tiny details. She had this broad toothy smile, shoulder-length golden hair, and ocean blue eyes. Her personality is what intrigued me the most. She was as happy as a clam. Most of the time, she would ask her students to compose stories, poems, and anything that would immerse us into literature. I remember her citing us with Australian candies, Jellies, and stickers. She was my favorite childhood teacher. Cutting to the chase, I did well in one of her classes, for which she presented me a little hair clip. Now for most of you reading, it might just be a hairpiece. For me, it was my first ever dive into the pool of writing because she praised me but most importantly, she praised what I wrote.

Moving on to high school, when I was far away from the thought of taking up writing, came 'Charlotte Samsun'. She was an English teacher too. If you asked the students, they would describe her as a neat, friendly, and perfect high school teacher. You could go asking her about your doubts a hundred times and never get disappointed. I always looked forward to her lectures. When I failed one of my classes and was about to give up, she said, "You're a bright child; we need you in the next class". Of course, I had tears in my eyes. Wait, there's more. This moment wasn't where she influenced me; it was in one of her lectures. She asked us all to write a formal letter or something, on which I got a nine-point five out of ten. I was embarrassed when she asked me to read my piece in front of the whole class, but deep down, I felt motivated. And this is how she and Robin ma'am planted a writer's seed in my mind.

When you look into your future, they say you must imagine something good. At what mindset I am today, it's feasible to say that I'm pretty happy that I took up writing. It didn't make me much in the beginning, but as for now, it's making me enough to get what I need and want. And yes, it also makes me happy, if that's what you're wondering. Now that I look ahead, I see myself buying that expensive shoe or booking tickets to my dream destination. But most importantly, I see myself writing like never. Blogposts, poetry, articles, and maybe even a book!

" Staring at the sea, brooding where the vessel is abiding me,

Is it proceeding to Venice, Florida, or the Bahamas?

Voyaging along wherever the dusk took me,

I discovered myself going heretofore to my land, Dallas".
